Search the register

The facility number as the Department writes it — seven digits, like 2310115 — or the first words of the business name.

What comes back

Not a line: a facility. Every licence on that facility number is shown together — what it is licensed as, the code, whether that licence was current, since when, and until when. That is the difference between « this is a repair shop » and « this is a repair shop that can also do your annual inspection ».

All 54,515 licences are loaded, including the 14,001 that had expired. A lapsed licence comes back as expired, with its date — not as « nothing found », which would read like an absence of a problem.

Nothing is searched on our servers: the index is a set of static files and the lookup runs in your browser. That is why a result has no address of its own and cannot be indexed as a profile.

What this register cannot tell you

The Department publishes this file annually and notes that « facilities expired less than 6 years are included in the data set ». A licence shown here as current was current when the file was published, not necessarily today.
